O Ministério Público do Estado do Pará (MPPA) por intermédio da Promotoria de Justiça de Canaã dos Carajás, expediu, nesta sexta-feira, 27, uma Recomendação direcionada ao Município de Canaã dos Carajás, relativo ao combate de focos de queimadas e acidentes florestais na região. A ação foi protocolada através do 1º Promotor de Justiça titular de Canaã dos Carajás, Emerson Costa de Oliveira, bem como da 2ª Promotora de Justiça titular de Canaã dos Carajás, Luciana Vasconcelos Mazza.
O documento tem como base o Procedimento istrativo SAJ nº 09.2024.00004178-1, instaurado a partir das notícias recentes do grande volume de queimadas no Brasil. O MPPA explica, no documento, que a combinação de estiagem histórica, altas temperaturas e inconsequência humana colocou o país em meio a uma de suas piores crises de queimadas com as florestas em estado de alerta devido à situação, que tem pressionado o sistema de saúde e causado preocupação aos órgãos e entidades fiscalizadoras.
Considerando os notórios altos índices de queimadas não somente no Município de Canaã dos Carajás, mas também no estado de emergência ambiental decretado pelo Governo do Pará, instaura-se a necessidade da melhoria na fiscalização nas zonas urbana e rural relativas de forma a previnir as queimadas no município.
Isso posto, o MPPA recomenda que sejam tomadas providências pelo município através da Secretaria Municipal de Meio Ambiente, que deve informar à Promotoria, no prazo de 10 dias, acerca da promoção de medidas de fiscalização de queimadas, com quantitativo de autos de infrações da prática de queimadas nas zonas urbana e rural e focos de incêndio identificados, além de promover campanhas de educação ambiental direcionada à população do Município, e de elaborar o plano de enfrentamento de queimadas pelo Município, entre outras recomendações.
A Promotoria de Justiça de Canaã dos Carajás ressalta que o não cumprimento desta Recomendação poderá ensejar medidas judiciais ou extrajudiciais para o seu fiel cumprimento.
